About

Threadbare Theatre Company was established in 2003 by Director Lucy Linger. Her debut show Ben Jonson’s The Alchemist at The Courtyard Theatre in Kings Cross, sold out and recieved rave reviews. It was brought “Back by popular demand” by the producers at The Courtyard for a further 3 week run. More success followed with Pete’s View (written and Directed by Lucy Linger), and other shows, including the hugely popular Wyrd Sisters by Terry Practchett. Threadbare Theatre Company have performed in London venues and also at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Whilst enjoying creating theatre in London, Lucy, a Surrey resident, noticed a lack of professional, affordable, local theatre. The amateur dramatic scene is vibrant and much respected in the area, but for professional theatre local residents are forced to travel further afield.

Lucy has therefore launched Threabare Theatre Company’s newest Venture The Play at the Pub www.theplayatthepub.co.uk utalising a local pub as a make shift theatre, and providing high quality, professional theatre, right on your door step.

  1. Hi, I see you are auditioning for your next production……how do I apply for that? I’m a 31 year old actress who’s just graduated from drama school in North London. If I fit your casting at all, how do I get in touch? Am on both CCP and Spotlight, but can’t see an email address on your webpage!! Thanks x

    1. Hi Julie, This is a relatively new website and I only just noticed the tiny little notification in the corner to say you’d contacted us! Sorry. If you want to email us it’s threadbaretheatrecompany@yahoo.co.uk or @surreytheatre We have been busy getting Off-roading up and running and so are still casting for our next show so do send details, although do note we rehearse and perform down in Surrey on a profit share basis (that ALWAYS pays you something) but you do need to consider travel. Many Thanks. Lucy
